Twilight to Starlight
Proud to present a special print- a whopping 10 color limited edition Screenprint of the artwork I created for the beer label of “Twilight to Starlight” , a collaboration by @hopbutcher , @smashingpumpkins and @madamezuzus for the 30th year anniversary of “Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness” by The Smashing Pumpkins. As part of the 30th anniversary of this magnum opus the band is playing 7 nights at the storied Lyric Opera of Chicago, which promises to be unique and amazing.
Attendees at these special performances will have the opportunity to both taste the beer and purchase this Screenprint edition.
The image was inspired by the John Craig back cover collage artwork from the 1995 release. Using this as my source to filter through my brain and the magic of scratchboard for the initial black and white image , I hand painted color separations for each screenprinted layer to give the final outcome an idiosyncratic and iconic presence. I’m very proud of how this turned out and happy it can stand on its own as well as be an homage to the original LP vibe. It’s been a great experience to produce this.
The print is 10 colors, 19 x 19 inches and is signed and numbered.,all the printing was done in my shop at Ground Up Press. These were all printed on @frenchpaperco Nightshift Blue cardstock.
